Jarett earned a Master's degree in Cinema & Media Studies from York University, honoured as a member of the famed Dirty Dozen. Before entering University, he worked a multitude of jobs, ranging from a fitness instructor to a construction laborer. It was with a single read of Beowulf in first-year English at St. Francis Xavier University, however, when his world was turned upside down by language's seemingly endless possibilities. Since then, he's dedicated himself to learning the crafts of visual and linguistic communication, as well as storytelling and Clint Eastwood.

He was raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, but he did not play hockey. Instead, video games were the name of his game until he started to notice cultural happenings in the world around him: Conan O'Brien came to late night television; Chuck Norris was replaced by John Wayne; he found his father's Neil Young collection; and Hulk Hogan told him to 'take his vitamins and say his prayers!' It was a time of immense curiosity for Jarett and, thankfully (not so much for Hogan), that same curious spark is what drives him today.

Therefore, his interests are vast: film & television, Conan, literature, Clint Eastwood, theatre, not Hulk Hogan, as well as health & wellness. In all seriousness, however, the world's cultural landscape is a fascinating one and, in Jarett's opinion, it is a site for hope and optimism, regardless of subject matter. His aim is to bring this belief and passion to his writing, covering many subjects, and hopefully entertaining you: the reader.
